All children were asked to take part in Scootability Training in November, where they were taught all about Scooter safety and had the chance to complete obstacle courses on the playground. It was a great success, the children had so much fun!!

Our children did themselves proud by running 10 laps of the playground, that’s 1 mile for Sport Relief 2016!

On the 21st October 2015 Carla Ward and Jess Clarke who both play football for England visited Monkwood Primary Academy, children were given the opportunity to ask them questions about playing football for their country.

On Friday 16th October 2015 we held a Jump Rope Day raising money for British Heart Foundation we raised £1467.00 in total (school will receive £293.00 of this) a BIG well done to everyone.

On Thursday the 15th October 2015 Monkwood Primary Academy had an Anti-Bullying afternoon, where children worked in groups to discuss what is bullying and who to speak to should this happen to them.

Our girls football team were flag bearers at the Rotherham United match on Saturday, well done girls a very memorable day for you all!

We would like to say a big WELL DONE to all of our children in the Monkwood Tigers Cheerleading Team they did an amazing job performing at the English Institute for Sport on Thursday brilliant team work what a performance we are all really proud of you

Well done to our amazing year 6 athletics team for winning the cluster competition.

A team of Year 2 children participated in a Football Tournament ran by Rotherham United Football Club in May.
