Peasants, Princes and Pestilence ?
Our first topic this half term has been, ‘Peasants, Princes and Pestilence.’ We have studied life in medieval times and found out about some of the disgusting diseases that people suffered from 700 years ago, including the plague.
For homework, our project was to make a model of a rat because rats were responsible for spreading the plague.
To learn more about the roles of different people in medieval society, we visited Conisbrough Castle where we took part in a workshop and got to dress up as people who would have worked in the castle.
In science, we have learnt about forces and carried out an investigation into how air resistance works to slow down moving objects. As groups, we planned and carried out an investigation into how the size of a parachute affects the speed at which it travels.
