Y3 Study Romans
Last term Year 3 loved our Roman topic and all children were really engaged with their learning. We made Roman catapults and shields.
We learned about the features of Roman roads by making them from food, lego, and garden materials. We used drama to help bring our literacy to life as we became gladiator fight commentators and imagined ourselves as Roman soldiers helping to build the empire. In art, we brought Roman Gods and Goddesses to life and enjoyed the Roman story of St Valentine by writing love letters. We even finished the term with a Roman banquet where we dressed up as Romans and laid eating and drinking whilst telling each other stories.
Both children in school and home learning really embraced this topic and we are proud of how hard they worked. We would also like to say a massive thank you to all of the grown-ups that supported their children at home and helped us to bring the topic to life!
