Meet your teacher
Mrs Hartley
Hi, I’m Mrs Hartley. This year is my first year teaching and leading EYFS at Monkwood Primary School and I am very much looking forward to it. I have worked for the last 13 years across WPT schools in Rawmarsh as an EYFS teacher and SENDCO. Monkwood, though, has a special place in my heart as I chose it as the school for my own children and for many years have been a parent governor. Now working in the school is a dream come true!
Early Years teaching is the best job in the world – no day is the same, and every day has the opportunity to be full of magic and kindness. I love being part of the learning journey and celebrating the wonderful progress your children make whilst with us. My favourite things are visiting the woods and story time – better yet if these two things combine! We will have a lot of fun this year and begin the wonderful Monkwood journey together.

Miss Moran
Hello I’m Miss Moran
I first came to Monkwood as a pupil and I loved it so much I decided to come back and now I have worked at Monkwood for three years.
I adore working in FS2 and cannot wait to meet all of our new children, helping and watching the children grow means so much to me. I am very passionate that every child has get the most out of FS2 and developing skills they will have for life.
When I am not at work I will most likely have a book in my hand, I am a book worm, or I will be baking or I will be watching a Disney film, I absolutely love Disney. I cannot wait to meet all of our new children, and set them up on the Monkwood journey.

Hello, My name is Mrs Grady and I can’t wait to be your new teacher next year! I will be new to Monkwood Primary School just like you and I can’t wait to explore the classroom and outside area with you all! I have been a teacher for over 20 years and I love teaching in EYFS! I have been working in Wickersley Partnership Trust for the last 2 years. I love being creative and reading books and I can’t wait to share some of my favourites with you. I have 2 children and 2 cats and love to spend my time with them. We love spending time visiting theme parks and exploring new places.

Miss mullins
Hi I am Miss Mullins and I’ve been part of Monkwood Primary School for over 20 years, and throughout most of that time, I’ve had the joy of working in Early Years. Supporting young children as they take their first steps into school life is something I’m incredibly passionate about, and I feel so lucky to be a part of their journey. At home, I’m a busy mum to three amazing children who I absolutely adore. They keep me on my toes, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
Class Information
In FS2 we like to read with your child every week to ensure they learn a love of reading, children will be asked to bring their book bag into school on Fridays. We love playing outdoors and exploring our amazing woodland area so please bring a spare pair of wellies to keep at school. Don’t forget to put your name in your wellies as well as your lovely new uniform.
Areas of Learning
In FS2 we start by exploring the woodland around us and learning about the animals who live there. We will share our exciting adventures with you through the Dojo app. You will also be able to use Dojo to share your home learning with us! You will love our classroom and all of the interesting areas within it. There are so many places to play and learn with all of your friends. We have so many exciting things to teach you and we can’t wait to start our new adventure together!
