Gingerbread Baking with Class 9

Class 9 had a wonderful time making gingerbread last week as part of their DT.  They made the dough, rolled it out, baked it and iced it. They tasted delicious and were definitely enjoyed. 

Monkwood Poppy Appeal 2023

FS2 Learn about Nursing 🏥

Izzy’s nan is an intensive care nurse and she came in the other day for a visit. She brought brought bandages for the children to practice on each other and showed them how she checks patients oxygen levels. The children loved it! 🥰

Pop’s Outdoor Adventure with Class 9

Class 9 loved their session with Pop’s outdoor adventure Rawmarsh. They were split into groups and had to build shelters from the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age using the materials they found in the woods. 

Y6 Geography Learning

In Geography, we have been discussing what a refugee is and the problems they may face. We have looked at maps to find out which countries they originated from, which countries they moved to and the reasons for this.

Exploring Shapes in FS1

In Foundation Stage 1 we have been looking at shapes last week. We like to encourage our children to play freely with natural materials so we went into our beautiful woodland area to make some shapes of our own. Can you guess what shapes we made? 

Science Investigations

In Science, the children have been learning about how to separate mixtures. The children were fantastic scientists as they carefully investigated how to separate mixtures using sieving, magnets and filtering.
