Mining History Topic Visit from Mr Hughes

In History, Year 6 interviewed Mr Hughes (a miner from the 1980’s) about how important mining was to the local area. We used open-ended questions to find out as much as possible. He told us lots of valuable information and showed us some interesting artefacts.

Icy Activities for FS2 ❄

Class 2 were looking at the ice last week when it was so cold and thinking of different ways to melt it. We decided that adding salt was the best way to thaw the ice and save the trapped animals. 🥶

Hansel and Gretel Traditional Tales

Year 6 Science Investigations

Year 6 proved what expert scientists they are by dissecting hearts. They have identified the different parts of the heart, such as the ventricles, aorta and atrium.

FS2 Explore Traditional Tales

Class 2 have been learning the traditional tale of Little Red Riding Hood. We have enjoyed acting the story out, painting the woods, writing get well cards to Grandma and ordering the story. We’ve had so much fun! 🐺❤

Year 6 Cranworth Climbing

Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed their climbing experience. Everyone showed determination and great resilience. They encouraged each other brilliantly and pushed themselves to improve on their performance from last time. 🧗‍♀️ Lucas won the speed climb with an impressive time of 24.14 seconds. 👏

Class 13 Expand their Geography Knowledge 🌏

In their Geography lesson last week, Class 13 were learning how to use four and six figure grid references to help locate places on a map. They then used this knowledge to identify, locate and give the six figure grid references for several South American countries and their capital cities.
