Meet your teachers

mrs Clark

Hello everyone. My name is Mrs Clark and I am very excited to be joining you at Monkwood Primary School. I will be new to the school this year but I have been teaching for 8 years now. My role is to help you stay safe, feel happy and build a love of learning. I love teaching all subjects but my favourites are history (I used to be an archaeologist) and writing which is my biggest passion as I believe that everyone has an author inside them waiting to burst out into the open. Outside of school I like to spend time with my family and my dog (when he is not driving me up the wall), reading a good book or at my archery club. I look forward to meeting you all and know that we are going to have an amazing time this year.

Meet your teachers

mrs dannatt

Hi. My name is Mrs Dannatt and I will be your Year 6 teacher at the beginning of each week. I am very much looking forward to helping and guiding you through your final year at Monkwood.

I can’t wait to find out the things you love and enjoy. Some of the things I enjoy is spending quality time with my family and friends, making special memories. I like to read and I am a big fan of films. I have a grown up son called Jake and he lives with his fiance, Lydia. My husband is called Paul and believe it or not, we sat next to each other when we were in Year 6!

I have a very good feeling about 2025-2026 and I promise you a year of hard work, laughter and incredible experiences.

mrs Smith

Hello everyone, my name is Mrs Smith and I will be one of your Year 6 teachers. I am really excited to meet you all and I can’t wait to start our learning journey together.

I absolutely love reading – my favourite book is Matilda by Roald Dahl – and I can’t wait to dive into some brilliant books with you. I also have a real passion for history, especially learning about World War 2, and I’m looking forward to exploring the past together in a fun and meaningful way. I truly believe that Year 6 is the best year group in school – it’s your final year before moving up to comprehensive, and it’s full of exciting opportunities and special moments. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and watching my girls play lots of sports – football is their absolute favourite!

I’m really looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you and making lots of new memories together. Let’s make this a fantastic year!

miss Day

Hello Year 6!

My name is Miss Day, and I’m one of the Teaching Assistants here to help you on your learning journey. I’ve worked in Foundation Stage, then in Year 3, and now I’m really excited to be working in Year 6 with you! I love a new challenge and can’t wait to support you as you grow and get ready for secondary school.

At home, I have three children who keep me busy – and I love spending time with them. When I get a bit of time to myself, I enjoy going shopping (especially for nice things for my family or the classroom!).

I’m really looking forward to getting to know you all, helping you with your learning, and having a fun and successful year together.

See you soon!
