World Book Day

On Thursday 5th March, staff and students at Monkwood came together to celebrate World Book Day. The school was buzzing with excitement as everyone dressed in creative costumes inspired by their favourite characters and stories. Pupils took part in a wide range of book-themed activities. Class 13 enjoyed reading their own current books as well as our class novel, The Nowhere Emporium, and competed in a fun ‘Blooket’ quiz all about books. Meanwhile, Class 1 brought in their favourite books to swap with their classmates, sharing stories and discovering new favourites.

Reading plays an important role in school life, helping to develop imagination, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning. World Book Day is a wonderful way to celebrate stories and encourage everyone to enjoy reading. Well done to everyone who took part!
