Geography in Y5

In Geography, Class 12 have been learning about the key exports of South America, including coffee, cocoa, bananas, beef and minerals.

They explored how these exports help countries earn money and create jobs, while also considering some of the challenges they can bring, such as deforestation and unfair working conditions. The class discussed the meaning of trade, imports and exports, and learned why Fairtrade is important in helping to ensure workers are treated fairly.

To finish the topic, the children took part in a Trade Summit, where they presented their findings and evaluated which exports have the greatest economic and environmental impact. It was fantastic to see them sharing their ideas and thinking critically about global trade. Well done!
