This week, Class 12 launched their new History unit on protests by learning about Emmeline Pankhurst and the Suffragettes. The children explored a range of historical sources, including newspaper reports, posters, photographs, and factual texts, to learn who she was and why she was such a significant figure. They did a fantastic job identifying whether sources were for or against her, beginning to understand the concept of bias.
They also took part in some brilliant thoughtful discussions, as they considered whether she was viewed as a hero or a criminal at the time. Well done!
