Charcoal Portraits in Y2

Year 2 have been developing their artistic skills by learning how to draw faces and portraits. Throughout the unit, the children explored a range of techniques and media to create representations of their own faces.

For their final pieces, they used charcoal to add detail, shading, and texture, producing some fantastic self-portraits. The children worked carefully to consider proportion and facial features, and their attention to detail is clearly reflected in the finished artwork. We have been incredibly impressed by the creativity and effort shown by Year 2. Their portraits are truly outstanding, and they should be very proud of their amazing masterpieces!
