Remembrance Day Learning

In class 1 we have been discussing Remembrance Day. We watched videos of the last post, The King laying his wreath and an explanation of why we celebrate Remembrance Day. The children were fascinated!

We talked about the significance of the poppy and decided to go for a look to find some. Outside our school there is a beautiful display of poppies. We saw red and purple ones. We know red is for remembering the fallen soilders and purple is for remembering the fallen animals.

After our poppy hunt, we went back to the classroom and made our own poppies.

Class 1 have been amazing, learning about such an important thing at such a young age!
