Five Currant Buns in FS1

This week, the children in FS1 have been having lots of fun with the traditional rhyme “Five Currant Buns in a Baker’s Shop” as part of their focus on early numeracy and language skills.

Through singing, counting, and imaginative role-play, the children have been learning to count backwards from 5 to 0, use number words confidently, and join in with rhyming phrases. They’ve also enjoyed taking turns as bakers and customers in our pretend bakery, using props and play money to bring the rhyme to life.

Great work, well done FS1!
