Y2 have been learning about the famous artist Pablo Picasso and exploring his unique artistic style. Last week, the children began by sketching portraits of their friends. They then took inspiration from Picasso’s work by rearranging facial features and redrawing their portraits in a more abstract style. The results were amazing!
The children enjoyed experimenting with different ideas and discovering how artists can represent people in unusual ways. Take a closer look at their artwork and see if you can spot where the eyes, nose, and mouth have been moved to – they might not be where you expect!
