This morning, four of our School Councillors from Years 4 and 5 proudly represented our school at the Rawmarsh Cenotaph for Remembrance Day. They listened respectfully to a reading of For the Fallen and joined in with the important words, “We will remember them.”
At 11am, the children took part in the two minutes’ silence with great maturity and respect. Afterwards, they took time to read the names engraved on the Cenotaph, reflecting on the lives of those who served and wondering if there were any familiar names among them.
Back in school, the children in Class 1 had a meaningful and creative Remembrance Day activity. They made poppy-themed biscuits, worked carefully to create beautiful poppy drawings for our class banner, and took part in discussions about the significance of remembering those who have served and sacrificed for our country.
Well done to everyone involved!
