Year 5 have had a fantastic first week back!
In Geography, the children have been learning about the continent of Africa. They have been working hard to use a map to locate and identify many of the countries that make up this huge continent.
In Maths on Friday, the children explored place value by playing a game called ‘Nice or Nasty.’ They rolled a dice to try and create the largest number possible from their four rolls. It was interesting to see which children were prepared to take the risk on rolling the dice…
In Art on Friday, the children studied examples of African masks. They looked at the shapes, sizes, colours and designs of them, then discussed their thoughts on them. This work will help them when they create their own design for a mask later in the term.
Well done everyone!
