The Gruffalo in FS2!

This week, we recieved a wanted poster, alerting us to a sighting of The Gruffalo in our school woods. So, we put on our wellies and set off to investigate! We looked closely for his orange eyes, black tongue, terrible tusks and the poisonous wart at the end of his nose. Then all of a sudden, we spotted him! He was actually kind and not as scary as we expected. He even gave us The Gruffalo story by Julia Donaldson.

Reading the story inspired lots of amazing learning for us this week. We had fun using collage materials to make our own Gruffalo masks, practising our cutting skills to create a snake, retelling the story using props in our role play area, and matching the animals from the story to their homes.

We also learnt The Gruffalo song and used our masks to perform it! Well done everyone. 😁
