In History, Year 5 explored the significance of the Stonewall Riots and investigated how attitudes towards, and rights for, LGBTQ+ people have changed over time. Using a range of historical sources, the children took on the role of historians, carefully analysing evidence and considering which interpretations were most strongly supported. They demonstrated excellent critical thinking skills, asked thoughtful questions, and engaged in meaningful discussions throughout the lesson.
We were particularly impressed by the maturity, respect, and sensitivity shown by the children when learning about this important topic. They approached the lesson with curiosity and care, making us incredibly proud of their attitudes and contributions.
