Class 13 African Art

African art has been our inspiration this half term. To begin with, the children have analysed and evaluated a range of African masks. The children used their own interpretations and ideas to describe and interpret them.

In our next lesson, the class studied an example of work by the African artist Chief Jimoh Buraimoh.

They looked carefully at the shapes and colours used in this piece and then we were able to create a section of this work in our own style using a visualiser to help us. We’ll keep you updated with our finished pieces of work later in the term.
